WHAT
Nomadic Stool provides rest when waiting in line, during an outing with children, or when hiking through wet, muddy or knobbly grounds when light packing just can't afford to dirty those jeans. Its collapsibility, impermeability and portability allow Nomadic Stool to provide a moment of respite at any time.
WHY
Nomadic Stool was created in response to a prompt requesting a stool made from wood that included no hardware, was shorter 16", and was portable.
HOW
The development of Nomadic Stool began with lots, and lots of research. From market research to ergonomic research, learnings were collected and categorised to then begin the ideation stage. After sketching a few favourite ideas, card models, foam mockups, CAD models and wood prototypes were produced. The latter were then user-tested. Several wooden prototypes were manufactured before finding the ideal balance between light and sturdy. Hence, the final product was created.
