WHAT
Twofold is a picnic bag made from its own blanket and board. Once opened, two places are automatically laid out.
The straps can be unclipped and placed in their slots under the dinnerware, leaving it flush against the board and ready to be used. After enjoying the meal, the hard set can be removed and the user can lay down on the blanket. Once it's time to go home, the white stitching on the fabric indicates how to easily fold it back into a bag.
WHY
I am passionate about creating experiences that enhance human happiness. As a designer, I would witness my peers creating dozens of technological products that only separate us into our own, individualistic worlds. I therefore wanted to create something that brought people together in a healthy, natural way. So, combining convenience, lightness and design, Twofold encourages people to spend quality with others, share a meal and enjoy the outdoors.
HOW
After extensive research, sketching, modelling and user testing, I created a file to lasercut a thin panel of tempered wood, I vacuum-formed the containers, created the straps and sewed the fabric, to create the ideal all-in-one picnic bag.
